A master of anatomy, Mr. Grignons whitetail deer have won numerous awards for their wonderful detail and life like appearance. His deer look absolutely natural. There is no wax or paint showing. He uses only the very best materials available, and the very best tanning. Combine this with his 30 + years of experience and you have the best whitetail mounts ever!
Whitetail deer hunting is a favorite pastime of Maine residents. The deer are very plentiful to the point of being there being too many deer. For a number of years the Maine Fish and Wildlife department protected the does by using a permit system. This has worked very well and now the Fish and Wildlife department would actually like to see more does taken. There are places in Maine where there are so many deer that the state has had to hire "sharpshooters" to come in a eliminate as many deer as possible. It makes you wonder where all the hunters are.
Maine whitetails get huge. The two hundred plus pound buck is very common and whitetails have been shot that weighted over 400 pounds. Maine whitetails also grow very large antlers. The very large eight pointer is very common, the very large ten pointer is common. To shot a deer with over ten points would be a lot more difficult, but that too happens a lot in central Maine. The central part of the state seems to grow the biggest deer racks. probably because of the abundance of food available. Big deer can be found virtually everywhere, but of course you have to hunt for the big ones. This usually means just being patient. There are so many deer in Maine at the present that in order to get a big one it seems you have to let the smaller ones go by. The first few days of the hunting season, lots and lots of smaller deer are taken. Most of the big deer in Maine are shot the last two weeks of the season, after all the eager, hurried hunters are out of the woods.
